Keeping Our Center ~ Day 9

They say it is shallow to talk about the weather, but different kinds of weather hold different energy and can have a significant impact on we feel. As we Wisconsinites know, all we need to do is wait five minutes and the weather will change! Yesterday, it took a bit longer, but while we woke up to a winter wonderland, by afternoon spring reigned again.

Spring is the energy of promise and potential. Spring is the reckless (or careful) scattering of seeds in joyful anticipation of flowers and vegetables, it is the rain that brings dormant lawns to life again, it is the power of birth as birds do their mating dances, and rabbits grow fat (though I wish they’d do it in someone else’s yard), and it is the celebration of buds bursting forth on the trees.

Yes, there is anxiety, fear and grief running rampant in the world right now. But, I believe we can harness the energy of blossoming, birthing and breaking forth. We can harness the energy of hope and light. We can feel it in every cell of our body if we pay attention, because we are One with nature, not separate from it. Sadly, we forget that by living indoors so much.

Go outside. Feel the warm breeze, stand in the gentle rain, claim the power of spring’s eternal hopefulness and promise.

Love & Light!
