Keeping Our Center ~ Palm Sunday

It doesn’t really feel like Palm Sunday without the story, the fanfare, the palms and the music. Truth be told, I’m trying to shift gears to put my head, my heart, and my soul into this Holy Week.  NPR quoted a tweet this week that said something like, “We’re not working at home, we’re at home working during a crisis.” The difference is that, whether we want it to or not, this COVID-19 crisis takes its toll on our hearts, our souls and our energy.

Now that you have my disclaimer, let me take a moment to ponder Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday was a staged demonstration by Jesus, essentially sending a message to the powers-that-be that he wasn’t backing off. He was in this fight for the long haul, and he was going to live true to himself and his message no matter what. Courage. Radical courage.

There are so many people stepping up right now and having the radical courage to help with the crisis our world is dealing with right now, because they have the knowledge, the skills, the integrity and the commitment to help others. Medical personnel are at the top of my list, but there are so many, many more who are doing what needs to be done right now.

During these difficult days, may we each have the courage to live true to the light within each of us, acting with great compassion, striving to be as positive as possible, showing kindness, love, caring and hope.

Love & Light,

Kaye
