Keeping Our Center ~ Day 82

At our last Theology on Tap session, the question came up about whether anyone believed in “signs.” I think there is a fear that saying “yes” makes you sound a little off your rocker, but, yes, I do believe in signs. I believe that there is a spiritual thread that runs through all of creation and that the universe (God, Goddess, Essence, Spirit) can speak to us in many, many ways. Just like dream language is symbolic, so the language of the Spirit is often also symbolic.

The interesting thing about signs is that what is a sign for one person may mean nothing to the next person. For example, there have suddenly been an abundance of owls in my life. First, we were given an owl puzzle (a very difficult, painful puzzle I might add), then we had multiple owl sightings in our backyard and across the street. Plus, I have found two owl feathers in the last week. Most people might just think that was cool, but I recognize the owl as the ancient symbol of the Goddess, wisdom, intuition and sight. I find great strength in being accompanied by the spirit of this magnificent creature.

The key to receiving the messages of the universe is to open our minds and our hearts and to watch for them. Then suddenly when you need a message of hope, you will find deeper meaning in a butterfly landing suspiciously close to you. Or when you need resilience, you’ll notice how even the tallest, strongest trees bend in the storms so as not to break. Or the line of a song will jump out at you with just the advice you need.

We are not alone in this amazing world. Keep your eyes, ears, heart and mind open as the Spirit has many creative ways to reach you.

Love & Light!
