Keeping Our Center ~ Day 4

It’s just plain weird. For 23 years I’ve been putting together a bulletin, volunteers, music and a sermon almost every week. I suppose I could still write and record a sermon and post it for you, but I bet there are a bunch you haven’t listened to, so if that’s important to you check out the list of sermons on our website (https://sacredjourneysracine.com/sermons) and you can catch up on YouTube! It just wouldn’t be the same preaching to Julie instead of a room full of people and good energy. That may change depending on how things go, but for now these seem more appropriate and meaningful.

This morning I find myself thinking about the early Israelites. You know, when the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed, the Jews had to rethink their understanding of God and find new ways of worshipping. One of the biggest things they figured out was that God didn’t live in the Temple, God lived in them and was with them wherever they were. That revelation was life changing.

You already know that the spark of Divine is with you and within you (or you haven’t really been listening to me all these years). I once had a very powerful experience during meditation of a brilliantly strong light emanating from within me. It is within all of us, we simply have to remember. Remember that we can draw upon the strength and comfort of the Spirit within. Remember that we can let go of fear and uncertainty and open our hearts to the grace and peace of the moment. Remember that we are never alone and every minute is sacred.

Today, may we remember to embrace the God who is always with us, and find new ways to let our lights illuminate our lives and the world (even if we’re self-isolating)!

Love & Light,

Kaye
