Keeping Our Center ~ Day 3

Good Morning!

I’ve been awake since 4:30 this morning pondering the concept of hope. Lucky you, you get to reap the benefits of my sleeplessness...

Hope is...

...the music of the soul

...fragile as the petals on a new flower in spring, yet strong enough to have pushed through the hard soil

...a soft rain on parched ground

...a robin on a cloudy, damp, dreary day

...the sunrise breaking through the night sky

...the warm whisper of the wind against your face after a long, cold winter

...a new pack of markers, a fresh box of crayons, a blank journal

...packets of seeds awaiting planting

...a friend you can count on

...the cry of a baby

...a new sketchbook, a fresh skein of yarn, a few yards of fabric

...a hot cup of tea (or whatever you love best), a soft blanket, a good book

...puppy kisses when you’re down

...a kind word, a helping hand, a note of encouragement

...a candle in the dark...

I could go on, and I imagine you could add to the list, too! Even in the darkest of hours on the most bleak days, hope surrounds us if we but look. For me there is no greater evidence that the Spirit is alive and well and on the move. When we act with hope, we align with the Essence of All That Is in a daring act of courage that says, “Bring it on, we will not cave, we will not crumble, we will hold each other up, we will go on in love, not despair.” 

Be hope today.
